2. A line was drawn on the specimen where it needed to be cut. 3. The plasma cutter was turned on. 4. The drag shield was placed on the edge of metal to allow correct standoff distance.

5. The trigger was pressed after 2 second of pre-flow and the pilot arc was started.

6. The torch was started to slowly move across the metal after the cutting arc was started.

7. The speed of the torch was adjusted to ensure the sparks go through the metal and cut the bottom of the metal.

8. The process was stopped for a short moment before the trigger was released at the end of the cut.

9. The trigger was released after 20 to 30 second of post-flow (the cutting arc can be instantly restarted in post-flow process).

As a result, the thick metal plate was managed to be cut into half as desired.
