Assignment #1 Business Model Generation
Read the book Business Model Generation by Osterwalder & Pigneur.
You will be required to hand in a maximum 10-page report with the following two
key sections:
1. Using the Business Model Canvas, draw and describe the business model for one
of the businesses listed below. You will be required to submit the canvas as well as a
detailed description of each of the items on your canvas.
2. Generate a new business model for your company that represents a new
innovative approach to reposition the company in their industry and ultimately solve
their most pressing business challenge(s).
You should follow the Ideation method discussed starting on page 135 and use one
of the four epicenters of business model innovation outlined on pages 138 139 as
the central them for your new business model. You will be required to submit the
canvas for this model, as well as detailed description of each of the items on this
canvas. I would also like you to submit, in the appendix, evidence of your Ideation
innovation process.
This is a group assignment, which you will complete in your groups.
The body of your report must use 1 line spacing with 12-point fonts, must not
exceed 10 pages. Feel free to use an appendix for your canvases and additional
information you feel is relevant to your business model(s). Appendices will not count
towards your 10 pages. You must use proper APA referencing for all external
reference material.
Your team will be required to present your business models to the class on the due
date.
You will also be required to hand in an electronic version of your report via the Email: hasanhaque.fba@easternuni.edu.bd and a printed copy during the
presentation with your presentation slides.
This assignment will count for 7.5% of your final grade.
