Taught three sections of English 9 that focused on developing reading, writing, listening, and
speaking skills in relation to fictional and nonfictional texts such as Of Mice and Men, To Kill
a Mockingbird, and Serial.
Taught one co-taught section of English 9 that utilized a variety of accommodations to align
with students Individualized Education Programs and 504s.
Taught a section of Study Skills an intervention class designed to aide students with special
education services who were assessed to need additional academic assistance that focused
on developing consistent academic habits and executive functioning skills to 9 th-12th graders.
Taught two sections of Approaches to Learning an intervention class designed to aide atrisk students who were assessed to need additional academic assistance that focused on
developing consistent academic habits and time management skills to 9 th and 10th graders.
Co-advised the schools Gay-Straight Alliance and mentored twenty high school students on
matters related to the LGBTQ+ community, sexuality, gender identity, social activism, and
self-empowerment.
Presented and discussed findings on a thesis project from Michigan State University,
Queering the Classroom: Implementing an LGBTQ+ Engaged Pedagogy in English
Classrooms, with English educators at the 2015 NCTE Conference in Minneapolis, MN.
Utilized various forms of educational technology such as PowerSchool, ELMO Document
Cameras, and iPads in order to develop technical skills alongside curriculum.
Facilitated a monthly 12th grade Grade-Level Advisory Day class that focused on developing
college, career, and life skills in preparation for graduation.

PERSONAL INTERESTS
My interests and hobbies include theater, music, video games, and reading various types of literature. I have been
participating in theater for the past seventeen years as a director, actor, and technician. In the future, I hope to work with a
community youth theater or a theater program in a school.
