assessed and addressed immediately by school administration in
collaboration with the Zumbrota Police Department. At no time were
any students, staff or community members in danger during this

We spoke with our staff about yesterday's incident this morning, and
our teachers shared this information with our middle school and high
school students. As family members, it is important to have a
conversation with your daughter/son to make sure they are
comfortable with the information we shared with them. If they show
any signs of needing our help regarding this situation, please contact
us right away. In this day of social media, it is also a great time to have
a discussion about the dangers of posting information that is not
factual or can be hurtful to others.

Data privacy laws restrict us from sharing details of most incidents at

school, but we want to be as transparent and honest as possible with

our community members regarding all the work we do. Obviously, we

much prefer to share the great things happening in our schools every
day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at
