My desire to teach began at a young age, as a little girl, I always looked up to my teachers and loved to play their role at home whenever I had the opportunity. Although I faced much adversity and challenges in my life, I managed to keep working towards my dreams and aspirations to become an educator. I have had the privilege to work inside and outside the classroom with students grades K-8th with many different backgrounds, english-language learners and special needs.

To Whom It May Concern:
This application is in regards to the position(s) as an Elementary Classroom Teacher. I am a recent Masters Graduate from the University of San Diego, currently working towards completing the last steps towards completing my teaching credential. Although I am just beginning my career as an educator, I offer experience working with a diverse student population and a natural talent for establishing a respectful and comfortable learning environment for my students. My desire to teach began at a young age. As a little girl, I always looked up to my teachers and loved to play their role at home whenever I had the opportunity. Although I faced much adversity and challenges in my life, I managed to keep working towards my dreams and aspirations to become an educator. Although I always knew I wanted to an educator, as a young child I was not exactly sure why but working in the field of education these past few years as a activity aide, tutor, and special education assistant I have come to find an abundant amount of reasons to pursue my passion, but most importantly to inspire children who face adversity and challenges in their life at such a young age, much like myself. As indicated above, I am a recent graduate of the University of San Diego and am completing the last steps towards gaining my multiple subject credential. I currently obtain both a 30-Day Substitute Permit and a Short-Term Staff Permit, which allowed me to recently complete my student teaching as a Longterm Substitute for the third grade at Darnall Charter School. During my time as a long-term substitute I created, implemented, and assessed lesson plans and assessments, scaffold and differentiated instruction based on various students needs, established and provided my students with a positive environment for learning, while being sure to communicate with parents on a daily basis. It was an absolute pleasure to serve these students while also gaining valuable experience to take with me in the future. Furthermore, I have had experience working inside and outside the classroom with students grades K-8th with many different backgrounds, English-language learners and special needs. I have also had the privilege to work with many wonderful educators at different stages in their careers and have learned a little bit from all these individuals to take along with me. During my time at the University of San Diego, I have obtained many knowledgeable skills that have prepared me for my future as an educator. As part of gaining my Masters Degree, I conducted my own Action Research project, which set out to increase student engagement through the implementation of student choice. This project not only taught me a great amount about my students but also taught me how to continuously reflect and grow as an educator. I also had the opportunity to participate in an international experience in Tokyo, Japan where my classmates and I set out to learn and experience firsthand how cognition and learning took place in another country. I feel so grateful to have had all the opportunity and experiences that have led me here today With the being said, I believe I would be an excellent candidate for this position as my schooling and prior work experience, as you can see, has prepared in numerous ways. I am excited to continue learning in the field of education and confident about the ambition I could bring to this position. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Marina Sandoval
