Portfolios

Submit a list of artifacts you will use in your portfolio
Write a description of 1 artifact that explains:
what the sample is
what is was for or why it was done
when it was done
who else was involved
what skill it demonstrates
WHAT IS A PORTFOLIO
ASK - - Has anyone made a portfolio before? What was in it? - grade school writing
portfolios STORY - I was at a conference and I heard they are going to start giving
electronic portfolios to students in public so they will have a copy of all there work from
k-12

STORIES - last semester a student had a great story of redesigning the labelling
process at his old job, he didnt have anything to show so I told him to write a story
about it - thinking now, he could have included some pictures because the labels
were about the nutritional information on food so he could have found one of those
to demonstrate what he did
EDUCATION
Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees
Academic Awards
Transcripts - or In-Process grades
Accolades from Professors (on tests, assignments, etc(
Program information - dont just cut and past from website - think about how it looks
Course Learning Outcomes think about how much time a person reading your
portfolio has, do you want them sorting through entire syllabus or just important parts
Projects, tests, writing samples, photographs
EDIT your work to highlight the skills they show you have
OTHER (rename this section in your table of contents)
