I am a professional artist and also a college professor
and also a high school teacher all in the arts.
What type of art do you do/ what is your favorite?

Im a weaver.
Weaving to the art world is like art education to the education world in that
weaving is kind of pushed off to the side as not being very professional or not
being real art.
Also loves Contemporary art Galleries in the Pearl District, and Whitman Gallery at PSU

How Has the Teaching of Art Changed?

Went to college in Oregon

At the time, all Oregon colleges had
weaving programs
First to go with budget cuts
UO is now the only one left
Discrimination against programs not
looked at as real art
We now see drawing, painting, digital arts
as most popular so those are the classes that are offered

How is the Market for Art in Portland?

There are a few galleries I enjoy but I dont take them super seriously.
