Overview

Tiger P.R.I.D.E (physical education, recreation, inclusion, development and

enjoyment) is an internship created by the Health Exercise and Sport Pedagogy

Department in order to develop the skills of the undergraduate students in
engaging in improving their teaching practices to better prepare themselves to
become professional educators. As part of the Delivery Team (DT) my job is to
promote physical education as well as improve my overall skills in instruction
through teaching, lesson planning, and reflection to better and efficientlyeducate
my students. This week inTigerP.R.I.D.EIdecided tofocusonteachingalesson
on dancing.This week Iinstructedapproximately810studentsontheconceptsof
dancing to 4 different songs The Sid Shuffle, The Kung Fu Pand, The Cuipid
Shuffle, and The Cha Cha Slide. Students will be very new to some of the
concepts soitmaybealittlechallengingsoImadesuretoperformthedance with
them through out the lesson. Thefacilitiesthatwereusedwastheblacktopofthe

success with the skills and the lesson I used equipment such as a radio, 10

StudentLearningOutcomes

Thehealthrelatedobjectivesforthissessionisasfollows:

P
Psychomotor
(P):
SWBAT

successfully
demonstrate the COTS for the dance unit while
participating in MVPA with 75% success rate.
Cognitive (C):
SWBAT to practice, reciprocal, and
selfcheck in this lesson. These three are theteaching
strategies that will be used. Using an interactive
approach and verbal cues to assist the students in
understanding the techniques that will be usedduring
the activities will provide the instruction. They will
be able to observe and analyze other classmates
performance. They will be able to know when their
HR increases.
HR Fitness (H):
SWBAT remain

actively engaged in MVPA at least 50% of the time
duringthedurationofthedanceunit.

As I reflect on my lesson I feel that the allof theabovelistedlearningoutcomes

were met successfully.Iwasveryproudofmystudentsfullparticipationandtheirability
to perfectly andsuccessfullydemonstratethecuesthatwelearnedthisweekwiththenew
dances. I did very well with instruction this time andmade sureto take itveryslow so
thatallstudentswould be able tofollow along. Being confidentintheactivitydefinitely
helped in their participation during the entire session. The transition wereimprovedas
well.Thoughthelessonwentverywellthereisalwaysroomforimprovement.

to the concepts and needed a slow demonstration to participate in the activity of dance. The
dances were a mix of high skilled and low skilled so it was agreatunitto takepart in. Asthe

able to improve there skills through out the class through practice. In addition, The
psychomotor, cognitive, and affective learning domains were in my opinion completed
successfully throughout the lesson.Inthelessonitseemedthat mylessondidimprovein

lesson the percentage of time that my students were involved in the activity was more
active and moderate in instructional or management time which was my goal from last
weeks reflection. Overall, I hopethatIcanhavea 510%of managementandinstruction
and 90% of activity will be my goal for the next class/lessonfornexttime.Inaddition,

Recommendationsfornextsession

The strategies I wouldliketoimproveonismy timemanagementandtaking

on task for the correct duration of time. Working on time management will
help tomakesurethatstudentsarelearningtheskillsinenoughtimeduringthe
lesson. I will use my phone or a watch to keep track of time next time in the
next activity. Also learning to control myspeechimpedimentbybreathingand
takingmytimeforeachlessonthestudentsneedtobetaughtreallyhelpedalot.
My goal also is to successfully increase or stay consistent with my MVPA in
the next lesson. In addition, based on what I achieved thisweekthecontentof
mystudentlearningobjectivesfornextweekwouldbeasfollows:

Psychomotor Objective
: Students will be able to
successfully demonstrate the COTS for the skill themes
unit 5/10 times throughout the lesson.
Cognitive
Objective: Students will be able to to accurately recite
the the cues of the skill and demonstrate it in class with
70% accuracy at the end of the lesson.
HR Fitness
Objective: Students will be able to remain actively
engaged in MVPA at least 50% of the time during the
durationoftheskillthemesunit.
