ACTIVITY BOARD
3rd grade (8-9)
Introduction of a new topic
Before the activity: (Lead- in) the teacher showed students a cut out ant and asked them What's that?
and What do you think we are going to talk about?, then the whole class has a short discussion about
the ants and what they know about them
After the activity: the students practice the new vocabulary during some games

All the students sit at their desk, but there are cut-outs of leaves glued all over the classroom. Students need
some space to move around. The desk are in a shape of a horseshoe.

Ania- she is a fast finisher, but she makes plenty of mistakes.
Rozalia- she is a very hard-working student, but she needs more time to process.
Magda- she is a fast finisher and she gets everything good.

DIFFICULTIES
The students may like to work with the same
people as always so someone might feel excluded.

The teacher has colourful sticks with names on them and the students
choose their partner.
