Diego Costa was at the centre of another major controversy after TV pictures
showed him apparently attempting to bite Gareth Barry with the Chelsea
player seemingly drawing back at the last moment.
Costa, who was sent off on 84 minutes, shortly after Chelsea went 2-0 down
in their FA Cup quarter final against Everton, was angry with a foul
committed by Barry, who had targeted him throughout the afternoon and
thrust his head into the Everton midfielders face.
He then opened his mouth as if to bite but appeared to draw back at the last
minute and ended up embracing Barry, who was also sent off later in the
game for another offence.
