Assignment 1 Information Literacy
e. Purpose why was it written, to inform, sell, persuade? Is there a bias or is the
material objective?
I believe this article was meant to inform and persuade. It gives facts and
information about the drones but it also gives the authors opinion on which drones
are better for different situations. I think they are giving helpful information but
because it is their opinion being stated it could be considered persuasive.
5) Log into the CCBC Library website. Find two scholarly journal articles on the same
topic from the CCBC library databases
a. List the keywords you used to find the articles.
Aerial Drone Photography options/choices
b. Identify the database you used.
MasterFILE Premier
c. Why did you choose this database?
I chose MasterFILE Premier because it had an article that related to what I was
researching about drones. The article on this database seemed closer related to the
subject than others.
d. Insert a screen print

Assignment 1 Information Literacy
I believe that the internet is updated more often than the scholarly journal articles
therefore it is more accurate. Journal articles arent updated often or they are
rewritten and not always as soon as the information comes out like how the
internet is.
c. Authority
I think the authority on scholarly journal articles is better because they are peer
reviewed by reputable sources. Not to say that internet articles arent trustworthy
sometimes but anyone can put information on the internet and say its true but to
have an article published and reviewed the odds are better that the information
will be correct at the time it is published.
