Equipment: 20 Handballs, 15 hoola hoops, 30 cones, tape
Equipment provided by me: tape
Facility: UTEP memorial gym
OBJECTIVES (2-3 per domain):
Psychomotor:
1. The students will demonstrate the correct form when serving in handball.
2. The students will demonstrate how to correctly hit the ball during a game
of handball.
Cognitive:
1. The students will find out how to use hand-eye coordination to better their
game.
2. The students will predict where the ball will land on the floor, thus giving a
better reaction time for hitting.
Affective:
1. The students will experience the joy in participating with classmates.
2. The students will experience the benefit of working with teammates to
achieve a desired outcome.

how far back handball can be
traced? It can be traced back as far
as 1500 BC to the Aztecs. The
earliest traces of handball in America
can be traced to San Francisco in
1873.

FITNESS ACTIVITY we are


going to start up with warmups miners. We are going to
do some lung and twists,
some high kicks, and some
arm and shoulder stretches.
LESSON FOCUS/SKILL
BUILDING ACTIVITY;
Today we will be learning how
to correctly hit the ball in
handball. Go ahead and get in
groups of two so we can
practice hitting the ball.
Psychomotor: use correct form and
proper technique to hit the ball.
Cognitive: judge how hard you
need to hit the ball in order for the
ball to go into the hoola hoop.

two and play a small game.

We should be using our whole
force of our body to hit the ball off
of the wall

Cognitive:
Miners, be sure to pay attention to
where we hit the ball. Hit the ball
in a good position so that your
partner cannot return it.

Affective:
be sure to give your partner
praise if they hit a ball well. I will
be going around and giving praise
as well.

your technique so that you can hit
the ball where you want it to go.

can utilize the lines and the walls
in the court so that you can win.
Affective: work hand in hand
with your teammate so that you
can win the game.
