Significance of Dū’ā after Wudū

The following Dū’ā should be read after the performance of Wudū, with the recitation of Durūd before
and after,

‫اللَّهُ َّم ْاج َعلْ ِِن ِم َن التَّ َّواب َِني َو ْاج َعلْ ِِن ِم َن الْ ُم َت َطهِّ ِرين‬
Oh Allah Almighty! Make me amongst those who repent abundantly and make me amongst
those who stay clean.1

A blessed Hadīth states:

If one does Wudū correctly and then looks towards the sky and reads Kalima-e Shahadah,
all 8 gates of Jannah are opened for him and he may enter through whichever one of
them he pleases.2

It is mentioned in a blessed Hadīth:

If a person reads Sūrah al-Qadr once after completing Wudū, he will be amongst the
truthful, if he recites it twice he will be amongst the martyrs and if he reads it three times,
Allah Almighty will keep him with His prophets alayhis salam on the Day of Judgement.3

It is written:

If a person looks up to the sky after performing Wudū and reads Sūrah al-Qadr,
Inshā’Allāh his eyesight will never become weak.4
