Ideal of Declaration of Independence
Throughout America, there are many influential documents but one in particular is
identified as the most valuable document in American history. The Declaration of Independence
is a significant document that allows all Americans to have freedoms and liberties in the United
States. On July 4, 1776, colonists declared independence from Britain. The Declaration of
Independence also stated their rights as a people and individually. Out of the four ideals
presented in the Declaration of Independence equality is the most important because there will be
absolute chaos without it, everyone deserves to be treated equally, and more valuable than the
other ideals.
Riots and protests all happen because people are not being treated fairly. On June 28,
1969, a gay community broke out into a violent riot against a police raid in New York City. Since
people were treated unjustly, the situation turned into a huge monumental, violent riot. No one
wants to end up being violent but anyone will for equality. Recently, a young African- American
boy, Mike Brown, was killed by a white police officer because of suspected robbery. Many feel
that the officer killed him because he was black and others feel he was doing his job. Some
people who believed it was about racism protested and the police gassed and abused the peaceful
protest. Others even went as far as looting and robbing convenient stores. When people feel they
are not treated equally, they will fight for it in any way possible.

No one likes the feeling of being treated unfair and unjust. The Declaration of
Independence states that all men are created equal. Since all men are created equal humans
naturally have the need to be treated fairly. It is only right to apply this counsel and treat
everyone as equal. When African-Americans and homosexuals felt they were being mistreated,
they stood up and fought for equality like during the Civil Rights movement. Everyone has the
right to be treated equally. Examples such as Rosa Parks, Harvey Milk, and Malcolm X all
fought for equality. As humans, each one has the natural inclination to fight for equality.
Equality is the most vital ideal compared to the other ideals. Many people have been
fighting for equality since the beginning of time like the Feminism movement thats still going
on today. Since many people are fighting for equality, it is something dear to their heart. Equality
is something very important. This touches everyone emotionally and many would give their lives
for instance Martin Luther King, Jr. who died because he fought for equality. He is a great
example of fighting for freedom and impartiality. If equality is achieved throughout America,
everyone will respect each others rights and freedoms because they want the same done to them.
Also, when equality is displayed the government will not abuse their power since they are equal
to the people they govern.
Equality is the most important ideal because there will be great turmoil if there wasnt
any, everyone is worthy of equality, and it is more valuable than the other ideals in the
Declaration of Independence. Even though the other ideals declared are very valuable, equality
stands out as being the most cherished. Throughout American history, many people have fought
or lost their lives fighting for equality. When equality is displayed there is peace among society
and everyone is happy. Treating others respectfully shows that one wants themselves to be
respected. In conclusion, equality is vital and all should do their best to show it to everyone.
