Coincidence, Conspiracy, and Climate Change Denial. Environmental

This article is very interesting because it deals with the fact that
many broadcast meteorologists deny climate change, calling it a
hoax. This caught my eye because the average American broadcast
meteorologists are seen as the front line for weather and climate
news, not as many people closely follow for example the national
weather service as closely as they would a local news station.
Broadcast meteorologists are the face of the production while
research meteorologists are finding the data with no recognition.
Some of the data included in this article states that while 9 in 10 TV
weathercasters agree that climate change is indeed happening only
3 in 10 believe there have been significant impacts in the past fifty
years and even fewer than that believe there will be more in the next
fifty years. Less than fifty percent of those meteorologists believe
climate change is the result of human activity. This is freighting
because as stated with TV meteorologists being the key stars of
news and information regarding weather you would hope they would
warn more about climate change itself. This article was shared with
many research atmospheric scientists recently as a warning to try
and help other meteorologists see the danger of whats happening to
our climate along with sharing with TV meteorologists to shed some
light on being the front line for climate change awareness.

This article is interesting to me because it gets right to the point. It
states that tourism as a whole is not only a huge contributing factor
to climate change but its also a huge player in the climate change
denial theories. Tourism is one of the most harmful activities going
on right now on plant earth, which is a hard thing to swallow. Tourism

transport, accommodation, and activities are estimated by two independent

analyses to have contributed approximately 5% to global anthropogenic

emissionsofCO2intheyear2005.Aviationisaccountingfor40%oftourism's
overallcarbonfootprint,followedbycartransport(32%)andaccommodation
(21%)withCruiseshipsprovideanestimated19.2MtCO 2 andaccountfor
around 1.5% of global tourism emissions . A majority of the human
population enjoys traveling to new places and the places they visit
enjoy the economic boost. It really seems like a win win until you
factor the toll we are taking on the Planet Earth. Between modes of
transportation, building bigger and better cities to visit, and even
some countries letting vacation hotels have laxer law regarding
environmental protection to build there tourism is very damaging.
(Us environmental agency) Of course, tourism companys are not
going to tell you the truth they want their business to do well so they
lie most of the time of try to take a back door approach to telling the
truth. This article is a great place to start for people trying to look
more in to climate change because it shows just how far people are
willing to go to hide the truth. Its eye opening that fun activities like
traveling seem to be unharmful are really doing the most damage.

This time magazine article was different and stuck out to me
because for the first time researching my topic I noticed it wasnt
focused on saving the environment but yet saving the economy. The
article stated Temperature change would leave the average income
around the world 23% lower in 2100 than it would be without climate
change along with leaving global GDP per capita 23% lower.
Minimizing temperature rises to 2.7F (1.5C) could minimize global
GDP loss by $50 trillion compared to a rise of 8.1F (4.5C) in the
coming decades. The anticipated spike in temperatures will not
affect the world evenly, according to the study. Productivity peaks
when temperatures in a given region average 55F (13C). This is all
so interesting to me because I think it could be a really important
point to emphasize to those who arent so focused on the
environment or deny climate change due to not seeing a big enough
change in the world. Money numbers would be just more proof and
more cause to stop/ slow climate change. This article would really
appeal to anyone looking into the cost or business side of this
aspect.

allonthetopic. Published in the journal Science, looked at the results of a
survey of 1,500 public school teachers across the U.S. and found that 70% of
middle school science teachers and 87% of high school biology teachers
devote some class time to climate change. But the quality of those lessons can
vary greatly from teacher to teacher. Nearly a third of U.S. teachers who
instruct on climate change say that the phenomenon is likely caused by
natural causes despite the fact that more than 95% of climate scientists
agree that humans have driven global warming. This is so important because
not education people, especially the young people who are the future of our
world, can lead to diastasis results. We must correctly educate our kids so the
same mistakes are not made over and over and we can hope to see some type
of change in the near future. I think that is article is for anyone looking to
hopeful educate themselves or other along with those seeking to understand
why things are not changing as we have onced hope or why they are not at a
higher/ faster rate.

This website simply put is a game changer. Its all the data and
information you could ever want about climate change all in one spot
and is backed by NASA one of the worlds leading science names. I
like it because its convent and has some major names backing it up.
The one I like specifically is it tracks daily global temperature, carbon
dioxide, land and artic ice, and sea level rises. Anyone looking for
any information at all, be it beginning information or more in depth
would use this website. It shows you past evidence along with
current and braking news about climate change. Im glad we have a
tool like this one we are free to use to educate others and ourselves.

This article talks about which countries around the world disagreed
with climate change the most, most specifically when the climate
debates were taking place in Paris, France. Not surprisingly the
country that ended up disagreeing the most was the United States,
while the country who agreed the most was China. Most of the
countries who see more factories and are less advanced then the
United states agreed more with Climate topics while countries more
the US tended to disagreed more. I believe this is because countries
like China and India have much more factories, people, and

pollutants and they realize they need to make the change because
they are being affected much more while we in the US take the
lighter end of whats going on so we dont have such a sense of
urgency. This would appeal to anyone whos looking for information
on who it is exactly denying climate change the most in a worldly
setting.
