About the Job
Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Finance and Accounting in a multi-company organization,
the Accountant is a highly organized individual who can carry out the following responsibilities with
efficiency, accuracy and due diligence:

Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, performing general ledger analysis and monthend closing as necessary for all business entities.

Performing banking duties which includes preparing and making bank deposits, cash
management, inter-company transactions, bank reconciliations.

Timely and accurate collection of Accounts Receivable.

Control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling A/P invoices; correcting
discrepancies and maintaining vendor files.

Producing timely and accurate monthly income statement, cash flow and balance sheet for each
company assigned.

Administering all government remittances, such as HST, in compliance with their respective
legislation.

Maintaining financial filing system and archival storage, which could also include scanning
documents and records.

Participating in the annual budget and business plan process, as required by the Corporate
Manager of Finance & Accounting or Manager of assigned companies.

Monitoring loans, leases and similar financial contracts for financial compliance.

Assisting the external Auditors as required by the Corporate Manager of Finance & Accounting.

Providing backup for other accounting staff when required.

Performing project work or other duties as specified by the Corporate Manager of Finance &
Accounting or Manager of the assigned companies.

Successful Candidate must have:

Completion of business/accounting diploma

Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting role

Solid understanding of GAAP

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written.

Demonstrated computer skills in Sage 300 ERP, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Technical proficiency with the following systems is advantageous: SQL Server, Crystal Reports,
high level Excel functions, such as VLookup and Pivot Tables
