Through my research I have found that public transportation has huge benefits for a
society. It is a large and reliable source of money for investors, it allows for people living long
distances away to be able to work jobs they normally wouldnt be able to. Something that I will
need to further research is the potential downsides to public transportation are and what the
possible solutions are. The reason that I felt the need to research this subject was because our
group decided it was going to be a major aspect for the city that we are designing and I chose to
cover it.
I am going to look at 2 different types of public transportation systems that are commonly
seen throughout the world and decide which one, based on which aspects of these are better for
our style of city, is better. I am going to go over the different types of public transportation
systems and decide which one will be the best served for our city based on benefits, costs, and
downsides of several different transportation models including railways, buses, and the
possibility of not having a public transportation system.

Goes into the philosophy itself and the purpose of public transportation. Exactly the sort
of evidence that I will need for my paper since it will provide me with exactly the
information that I need and will provide as backing evidence.

transportation but it also goes into detail on the benefits and uses of a transportation
system.

About railway systems, which is one of the topics that I will be covering for deciding
which transportation method we will use. Specifically covers the minimum amount you
would need to put in for it to be cost effective.

Talks about the benefits of the bus systems, which is the second topic that I will be
covering in my research.

Doesnt say anything about public transportation but rather transportation as a whole.
Will be useful to my argument as to why having the transportation system as public will
be a better idea.

like this happen. Very useful for my argument as to why we would use a rail system over
a bus.

Article that covers some of the things that wouldnt be solved by using public
transportation. Argues that a bus system would be more effective than a rail system
because buses tend to work better for modern day society than what it would take to
build a rail system.
