E3 Integrated Math II

By: Liz Harkay

Common Core State Standards

Prove polynomial identities and use them to describe numerical relationships. For example,
the polynomial identity
(x2 + y2)2= (x2 y2)2 + (2xy)2 can be used to generate Pythagorean triples.
(+) Know and apply the Binomial Theorem for the expansion of (x + y)n in powers of x and y
for a positive integer n, where
x and y are any numbers, with coefcients determined for example by Pascals Triangle.12

Probability

In the first semester we focused a majority on

probability.
We explored expected value which is the weighted
average of possible values of a random variable, with
weights given by their respective theoretical
probabilities, is known as the expected value.
Our exhibition project was a casino that had examples
of probability
