Objectives
Students will be able to:
a Enrich their vocabulary through the vocabulary exercise prepared to
become more familiar with words from the play.
b Demonstrate their understanding of the full play of Macbeth.
Standards
CE 2.1.3 Determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.
CE 3.1.2 Demonstrate an understanding of literary characterization,
character development, the function of major and minor characters,
motives and causes for action, and moral dilemmas that characters
encounter by describing their function in specific works.
Anticipatory Set
a Playing Kahoot by using our phones and competing with classmates.
Past Experience with Topic
a For the past two months, the students have been reading, discussing,
and understanding Macbeth. There were many forms of assessment
including quizzes, worksheets, written and creative projects, and
presentations.
b Students created flashcards to help them study the vocabulary words
at the beginning of the unit. Previous practice with the terms involved
creating a short story using the vocabulary terms, crossword puzzle
warm-ups, and packets to practice synonyms of the vocabulary words
and placing them in sentences correctly.
Materials
a Electronic Device (have iPads for students that do not have a phone)
b Smart Board
c Computer
Procedures
a As the students enter the class, the teacher will greet them and give
them the reminders that they need to be aware of.
i Hard copy of essay due Friday, March 18th.
ii Submit essay on turnitin.com by midnight on Thursday.
iii Final test on Friday, March 18th.
iv Quiz retakes/makeups!!
v Turn in all missing assignments.
b Read the lesson objectives to students.
(Seven minutes)
c The students will enter in the pin number that is posted on the Smart
Board to join Kahoot. If a student does not have their electronic device,
they will use one of the iPads available to them.
d We will review for the final test while playing a game of Kahoot. The
questions that are on Kahoot are the same questions that will be on

the test. If the students are prepared and doing well during the review
game, they should do fine on the test.
