Use your maths book to see if you can solve this addition and subtraction challenge: (Yep, its nasty)
Iesha and Seb decided that they wanted to do some fundraising to save the Greater-Speckled Squawking Pink
Monkey-Bird from second-hand smoking and algal blooms. Sebs mum gave them $10 to start with, but they
needed to spend $7.50 on photocopies for advertising. After the first day they were given $15.80, but had to
buy a new bucket after their first one was crushed in a horrible tricycle accident. The bucket cost $2.70. On the
second day they went door to door and got $23.40, but had to pay $5.60 in bus fares. On the third day it went
really well busking in town and they made $48.20 - but had to pay $12.50 to re-string Ieshas ukulele. On the
fourth day it was raining and they didnt raise much only $5.20 but they didnt have any costs. On Friday it
was still raining, so they hired a Monkey-Bird themed umbrella for $6.40 and raised another $34.90
In the weekend, they added up their total donation how much money had they raised?
Handy tip: make a plan for how to keep track of the money earned and spent each day.
