PRACTICUM STATEMENT (AFTER PRACTICUM)

For my second practicum, I did it SK Batu Bertangkup, Jalan Kilang Gula, Beseri,
Perlis.

I gained many new knowledge and also experiences from the practicum

although it was just for two months. The practicum gave me the real experiences on
how to teach a class that fill with pupils with different level of proficiency. All this while I
just carry out the microteaching during the class with the help of my friends as the
pupils. During that microteaching, for me it is easier to control the class but in reality it is
actually harder than what I expected. I did experience it during my practicum at Sekolah
Kebangsaan Bintong. The pupils that was hard for me to control is the year 2 class.
Most probably because there are still very young and most of them are very active so I
need to create many activities that suitable with their energy in the class. For me this
was a big challenge but I think I managed to handle them for about two months there.
Besides that, I also gained other experiences such as had been given
responsibilities to manage the events like Sambutan Kemerdekaan and Jamuan Raya.
Those events had taught me on how to plan, to carry out and to do the reflection based
on what had been done. For examples, we were asked to do performance for the
Sambutan Raya which able to help to boost our confidences level. In addition, I also
have the experiences on how to conduct the co-curiculum meeting. My friends and I got
the chance to conduct the uniform bodies activities. We decided to teach the pupils on
how to fold and tie the Anduh where we teach the pupils on how to give early treatment
for those that are involved with slight accident such as broken arms, wound and so on
before sending them to the hospital. The pupils were given their full concentration
during the explanation and then we asked them to practice what we have showed to
them. The objectives of the day was achieved when many of the pupils manage to fold
and tie the Anduh correctly. We were also have been asked to decorate the sports
store in SKBB. By doing that, I had learnt on how to handle the inventory and get to
know more sports equipments.

Other than that, I also would like to share my experience of encountering

interpersonal issue at the school. A few weeks of my practicum at the school went well
but an issue had arise there. A senior male teacher personally approached me through
Facebooks messenger and warned me not to talk bad about the school. He said that as
he read my posts in my Facebook which actually have got nothing to do with the image
of the school. I posted them as my personal opinions and I have my own intentions for
doing that. The next day, my teacher advisor called me and she asked me about what
had happened. I told her everything and she was very surprise to know that the male
teacher personally approached me. She was very disappointed of what had happened.
She advised me to distance myself from him. That was a very bad experience yet it
taught me not to trust people too much. I also learnt that I should be more careful when
it comes to dealing with social networks. That was the worse issue ever but I have
learnt a lot from it.
I also learnt that nothing is perfect in this world. Through this practicum, it taught
me that even though the administration was a little bit tough but the pupils were very
nice. I was really glad to have the opportunity to teach them and to love them as my
pupils. They managed to make me realized that teaching profession is a really great
field.
As the conclusion, the first practicum has taught me a lot. It give me the real
pictures on how the pupils are and for that I need to think a lot to cater all the pupils
needs. For this practicum, I hope that I managed to teach and give knowledge that the
pupils can remember and useful for them. As for the future, I will try to do much better
that this since it is my responsible as the future educator.
