d. Distinguish between land and water on a map or globe (DOK 1)
Objectives
Students will be able to answer questions about geographical locations of
places that include
the standards above.

3. Determine how you want students to proceed through the QR

code hunt and what they are to do with the information or
what they are to do at each clue. Describe your method here:
Students will be split into small groups. Each group will be given one
iPad with a QR code scanner. Each group will also be given a worksheet
with each question on it. The first QR code will be on the white board in
the front of the classroom for everyone to easily see. Students will start
their hunt for the QR codes when the teacher tells them to get out of
their seats. If they do not understand, teacher will aide them with the
first code. Once they have scanned the first code, they will right down
the answer they find from the site provided from the code. After they
have finished the first question, each group will head off around the
specified areas of the school building and begin their hunt for the other
nine codes. The first group to find all the codes and write down all of
their answers correctly will win! This activity will be done in the middle
of our geography unit to give the students a fun activity in the unit
time.
