Thesis Statement: There is no promise that the world we know today will be the world we
wake up too tomorrow. If you woke up to find the world destroyed and find yourself running for
life, it will benefit you to have strong bones, a strong body, and a strong immune system.

Benefits of Running
A. Mental Health Benefits
1. A physically active life yields repeating results that exercise stimulates
dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenergic activity in the central nervous
system.
2. According to a field and study in Psychology Health and Medicine,
research shows that different forms of exercise trigger identical
psychological benefits.
3. Why run? Running would be the better solution, in my opinion, when
outrunning scared delusional people or even zombies.
4. In 2013, Runners World published an article entitled 6 Ways Running
Improves Your Health and within the article it discusses the fact that
running makes you happier.
5. The runners high is an amazing and powerful feeling.
B. Cardiac Benefits
1. Several journals in Science Direct, a well-known provider of science and
medical research, discuss how people of todays world have perfected the
art of doing nothing.
2. Our society has become fatter and less healthy.
3. Exercise is medicine.

4. Studies have proven that low to moderately intense exercise training


increases longevity and reduces the risk of a heart attack.
5. The more you run, the stronger your heart becomes.
6. A strong heart out runs the zombie with no heart.
7. It only takes five minutes of low to moderate running a day to reduce your
risk of mortality and increase your ability to outrun the nuts you may
encounter should our world as we know it today cease to exist tomorrow.
C. Increase Bone Strength
1. In 2013, Runners World published an article entitled 6 Ways Running
Improves Your Health and within the article it discusses the benefits of
running to strengthen your bones by increasing bone mass.
2. Bone is living tissue that reacts to exercise by becoming stronger.
3. Exercise that forces the body to work against gravity, like running, is an
effective way to strengthen bones,
4. Strong bones will be needed should we decide to tap into our inner
Dauntless and start jumping from trains and from roof top to roof top.
D. Miscellaneous Advantages to Running
1. Running may be the Fountain of Youth.
2. Running is not a cancer cure, but a review of a few epidemiological
studies found in the Journal of Nutrition showed that regular exercise is
associated with lower risk of certain cancers.
3. Running adds years to your life.

Disadvantages of Running
A. Injuries sustained from overuse
1. MyFoodDiary.com posted that a disadvantage to running would be
injuries sustained from overuse.
B. Weight gain due to building money
C. Running is a potentially expensive activity due to equipment needed for training.
