Cooperative Learning
Jerry is a visually impaired student with limited vision in both eyes. Jerry can see but has
trouble focusing on small objects. He can fully participate in physical activity and has no
other disabilities.
As a result, Jerrys group will use a soft ball when playing 2-ball to ensure his safety.
Spelling can be integrated by having the students spell out words each time they throw
the ball in 2-ball.
Diversity
When the music starts, students will skip around the floor holding a hula-hoop.
When the music stops, students will start hula-hooping.

When the music starts, the students will jog around the room holding their hoop.
When the music stops, the students will hop in and out of their hoop on their left foot.
Describe that catching should consist of using the hands and not trapping the ball against
the body.
Explain that watching the ball into your hand is very important.
Explain and demonstrate how to take the hands to the ball when catching.
Divide the class into groups of 6-8 students.
Have the students play 2-ball. Each group forms a circle. There are two balls active in
the circle at a time. The students can throw the ball to anybody in the circle except for
the people beside them. If the student drops a ball or makes a bad throw, they get a
strike. After three strikes that student is out. The game is played until there is one
student left in the group.
Overhead Arm stretch- the arm is extended over the head and the elbow is pulled down
towards the shoulder.
Choker Stretch- the arm is pulled across the neck and extended.
Forearm Stretch- the arm is straightened in front of the body and the fingers are pulled
back by the other hand.
