Hey Everybody!

I have one month left from today before I am released as a full-time

missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I
cannot believe it. It is slowly sinking in, but I have so much work to
do here! I have to hit the pavement and go hard!
Sadly there is not a lot to report on this week because of the last
week of the Provo City Center Temple Open House. It has been such a
pleasure to work be apart of two temple open houses in my time as a
missionary. I have grown a deeper love for temples. They are truly
houses of the Lord and you can feel His presence there. There is no
other place where you can draw nearer to God than the temple. The
dedication will be March 20. The reason they have three dedication
sessions is for the saints to rededicated themselves to attending the
temple as often as they can. We definitely need to make temple worship
a higher priority in our lives as Latter-Day Saints.
Oh wait! I do have something! Sister Flores and I attended a baptism
for this INCREDIBLE lady and her husband, Elsa and Jeff Isaac. Hermana
Flores and I have never forgotten the lesson that we had with her, and
how she radiated the light of Christ. So grateful to have been even a
little part of her journey and she said that she has never forgotten
us. I could not help but shed a few tears because of the great tender
mercies of the Lord that He has bestowed upon me.
We had stake conference this weekend again in our other stake, and an
area seventy came. His talk really touched me and I wanted to share my
insights with all of you.
Elder Dewsnup
Matthew 4:1-11
3 Classes of Temptation
11 Appetites and Passions - Want to satisfy them
21 Vanity and Pride - Wanting the praise of others
31 Wealth - Desire for power
Look at this as one temptation, not three. The devil wants us to
deny who we are. How to avoid the temptations of the world? Never
forget who you are.
Parents are to "lead, guide and walk beside our children to help
them find the way. Teach them all that they must do, to live with Him
someday."
Sermon on the mount
Romans 8:16
How can you do horrible things to those who is a child of God? This
thought process will change the world.
Atonement = Enormity x Infinity , in other words, beyond our comprehension
The gospel is not a list of do not's. We must teach our children the
foundation and the "Why" behind the doctrines. Teach them to love and
choose Christ.
D&C 25:1
D&C 121:7
True doctrine understood changes behavior. -Boyd K. Packer

One can know something, but we must understand it

We can understand who we are by listening to the Holy Ghost who can
teach us who we truly are.
In short, from his talk which was based on a YSA discussion in Puerto
Rico with Elder Bednar we must not forget who we are if we are to
stand against the temptations of this world. We are children of a
Heavenly Father, who loves us and we love Him. He is not just this
great Creator in the Heavens who does not want to listen to His
children. Indeed, He wants a relationship with us, but we must come
unto Him in prayer.
Have a wonderful week! Keep the faith! I love you all!
Con Amor,
