Name:

Short Story Writing

You are Canadas newest, youngest, world-famous author! You just
published a book that won multiple awards and was produced by a
movie company. Your book rivals The Hunger Games and The Maze
Runner!!
Now, for your next big idea
Your story must:
Be approximately two pages in length, double-spaced and
typed in Times New Roman font
Have two to four main characters. Your story may include extra
minor characters. Pets do not count as main characters.
You may choose the genre of your story. You may choose a
theme that is: action, adventure, scary, happy.
You may write from the 1st person point of view (I, my, mine,
me) or the 3rd person point of view (he, she, hers, his).
Include one illustration (more if you have time).
STEP 1: Use the Hamburger planner or Story Mountain planner to plan
your short story.
STEP 2: Show Ms. Longland your planner.
STEP 3: Begin typing your short story.
STEP 4: Ask Ms. Longland to proof read and check for grammar.
STEP 5: Edit short story and print.
STEP 6: Add an illustration page
STEP 7: Hand in to Ms. Longland. You are done!

**Please see me after you have finished planning

your short story. I will check over your plans.
**I am able to check over your rough draft for
spellings and grammar.
