Report

The aim of this assignment was to create a series of views and sketches of a
particular mechanical specimen. Our group, Group 7, consisted of 6
members: Maria Cutajar, Daniel Frendo, Daniel Aquilina, Jean-Claude
Chetcuti, Ren Camilleri and Anthea Fenech, of which the leader was Maria
Cutajar. In our case , we were assigned to work on a 1965 Austin Cambridge
Carburettor. Considering the complexity of this object and several difficulties
faced during procedure, as a group we presented 3 sketches per member as
well as an orthographic view. perspective ?
All members in the group put in an equal amount of hard work in completing
this assignment and work was assigned and carried out as follows :
After having chosen a particular carburettor model, all members presented 3
sketches each, 7 of which were chosen to be included in the final poster.
Having finished this, the members gathered to measure the dimensions of
the carburettor provided by Anthea. Daniel Frendo, Maria Cutajar and
Anthea Fenech proceeded in drawing separate orthographic views. Daniel
Frendo drew the side elevation, Maria Cutajar took care of the end elevation
and Anthea Fenech did the plan view. This was followed by the assembled
and more detailed drawing of the orthographic view which was carried out by
Maria Cutajar and Ren Camilleri whilst at the same time, Daniel |Aquilina
proceeded with the perspective drawing. Last but not least, Jean-Claude
Chetcuti finalized the assignment by creating the poster, in which the 7
chosen sketches, the orthographic view as well as the perspective view were
included.
The assignment proved to be a challenge, however all members feel that
they were given the chance to put into practice the knowledge acquired
during the lectures and apply it to a practical situation.
