MONTAGE

Description: A spiritual Montage where I combined two pictures

to look like one perfectly blended picture.
Date: 2/11/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-0
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Program(s)/Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Objectives: Try to create two separate images to look like one
cohesive image, while reaching out a certain audience.
Process: I first started by finding two images that I think would
blend well together and where they wouldnt be too contrasting
to each other. I used the brush tool in Photoshop to brush away
some of the excess image that I did not want to use while merging
them together.

LO GOS

Desciption: Created one logo in 3 different colors for a future employer.

Programs: Adobe Illustrator
Date: 2/19/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Try to create a Logo that a future employer could possibly
use.
Process: For this process I had to ask what the client wanted. In this
case, the client was my mom. She is a national keynote speaker and a
prrofessional parent coach. Her name is Keri Krout, and I reallly wanted
to play with the two Ks. Her favorite color is blue as well, so thats why I
chose that color scheme.

WEBPAGE

Desciption: I Created a Webpage around a logo I have previously made.

Programs: CSS & Text Wrangler
Date: 3/11/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Create a working webpage that would broadcast my logo I
previously created.
Process: I downloaded an application called text wrangler where I was able
to put in codes to create this website. Before this class, I had never used it
before, let alone created a website. Its really fun to see everything come to life
using HTML and CSS. I used a logo that I had already previously made in
InDesign and incorporatated in this design. I made su re the colors from my
logo and my web page went well together, and added a picture in the back as
well.

PHOTODESIGN

Desciption: Demonstrate photography and photo editing skills using Adobe

Photoshop, and include a Color Scheme.
Programs: Adobe Photoshop
Date: 2/4/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Turn a bland photo into a better quality photo with an overall
message.
Process: The very first step I took was took a picture and see if that would fit
a color scheme that I liked. I then tried to find a quote that I thought would
reach out to a lot of people, and have a wide variety of an audience. For
the photo I used my own personal digital camera which is a Nikon D3200.
I used a globe that I found in the library, and I tried to get a good angle. I
noticed the background wasnt all that fancy, so I used a tool on photoshop
where I could make it look almost magical. To get my color scheme, I used
the dropper tool to match the colors on the globe. This actually turned out a
lot better than what I thought.

EVENT AD

Desciption: I did a made up ad, where children could come and play with professional athletes and their money will go towards a Charity. I know a lot of athletes
help with Make-A-Wish foundation, so I decided that the money would go there!
I took this photo of a baseball player, and picked the color scheme off of hit hat.
Programs: Microsoft Word
Date: 1/30/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Create an Ad that would advertise a sporting event for children to play
with the pros.
Process: For this assignment I used Microsoft Word. It was really cool to see everything happen through word. I usually only use that for writing assignments, but I
enjoyed creating something. I really enjoyed using the Color Wheel and and the
dropper tool (I am not sure if thats what its called) to match the color of his baseball hat with the colors I used for the overall project.

Come play with Professional
Athletes from all sports. All
proceeds will go to the Make-A-
Wish foundation.

James, and Damian Lillard

BROCHURE

Desciption: A two sided, tri-fold brochure.

Programs: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
Date: 3/25/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: A Traveling Brochure showcasing the beauty of Estes Park,
Colorado.
Process: I first set up my front page in InDesign. This was a little tricky
because I had to plan out where each fold would go, which made it a little
confusing. I created my logo using Adobe Illustrator, and I moved it into
InDesign. I also used photo shop and cut out each image using the lasso
tool, and placed them in InDesign as well, where I then created text to go
around one of the pictures.

BUSINESS CARD

Desciption: A front and back to a business card for Alpine Jewelers.

Programs: Adobe Illustrator & InDesign
Date: 2/26/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Create a logo and business card for a true company.
Process: I first needed to figure out the color dynamic that Alpine Jewelers used.
And I asked for their slogan as well. Since its a jewelry company the first thing
that came to mind was to create a ring. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo,
and then moved it over to Adobe InDesign to create the rest of the business card.

LET TER HEAD

Desciption: Create a letter head that matched my previously made business card.
Programs: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Date: 2/26/16
Course & Section: Comm. 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: Make a letter head that a comopany would want to use with its
matching businesss card.
Process: I needed to make sure the letter head and business card went together
cohesively. I already had my color scheme, so now I just needed to design a letter
head, where the company would be email to write their letters in a clear yet
selling place.

FLIER

Desciption: Create a black and white Flier Project to show there is Graduate
Leadership Conference.
Programs: Adobe InDesign
Date: 1/22/16
Course & Section: Comm 130-03
Instructor: Ben Pingel
Objectives: This flier was to reach out to graduates and let them know a conference
was coming up.
Process: The very first thing I did was sketch a couple different designs that I wanted
to implement into the final project. I did 4 different sketches. I then decided which
one I wanted to do, and did my best to create that on the final project. As I was working on the computer I realized that what I had on paper didnt really match up, but for
my first project, I think I did an ok job. I went to the lab to try to create what I had on
paper. The final process was saving everything, and printing it out.
