Graphic Organizer // Gallery Walk

INVENTIONS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

Gallery Walk Instructions: You will be arranged in groups of 4-5 for this activity. There are stations
around the classroom, each dedicated to one of the 8 inventions to be studied. Each station will include 2
pictures of the invention, 1 picture of the inventor, and 5 copies of an article summarizing the background
and impacts of the invention. You will spend 10 minutes at each station to complete your Graphic
Organizer. After the duration, you will be rotated to the next station that will have a different invention. You
will be able to measure your progress by using a Google Timer thats displayed on the projector. You will
repeat this rotation until you have completed the Graphic Organizer.
Reciprocal Teaching Technique: You will be using the reciprocal teaching techniques to explore
the resources at each station. This strategy requires the members in your group to alternate
between reading and explaining each paragraph. One student in your group will read while the rest
listens, then the group will pause at the end of each paragraph to explain to each other what was
read. Then, the cycle will continue as a different student will read the next paragraph.
Graphic Organizer Instructions: You will explore the resources at each station to fill out the sections for
each invention.
