Valueaddedproducts
(e.g.waxcandles,preserves,oils,soap)canbesold,
with
permission
fromthemarketmanager.Theseproductsmustbe
selfproduced
fromlocal
(Ontario)productsandadheretothefoodsafetystandards.
Vendorsagreetosource,useandpromoteproductsthataresustainableandproducedunder
ethicalworkingconditionswheneverpossible.
Productsthatveerfromtheproductslistedintheoriginalapplication,shouldbepresentedto
andbeapprovedbythemarketmanagerpriortosale.
ThevendorsandproductsatFairmountMarketarecuratedtoprovideuniqueselection,unique
productoverlapandtoprovidediversityofchoicefortheconsumer.Forthisreason,the
saleof
unapprovedproductsthatdirectlycompetewithanalreadyapproved/established
vendorisnotallowed.
VendorClassifications
FairmountMarketstrivestoprovidethehighestquality,locallyproducedfoodthatis
understandablysolddirectlybythegrower/producer.Eachvendormustclearlyidentify
themselvesaccordingtothefollowingclassificationsinthemarketregistrationprocess.
A.
Producer
:Eachvendormusthavegrown/producedtheproductsthattheyareselling.Sales
agentsareallowed,theseindividualsmustbeidentifiedtothemarketstaffandsellonly
productsmadebyoriginatingvendor.
B.
Producer/ReSeller
:75%ofproduce/productsareproducedbythevendor.25%of
productsareresoldfromarelativeorneighboringfarm.Thisfarmmustmeettherulesand
regulationsofthemarket,beidentifiedontheapplicationandapprovedbythemarketmanager.
Producersmustprovidecustomerswithtransparentinformationabouttheoriginatingsourceof
theproductsincludinganyvariancefromcertificationspromotedbythevendor(e.g.neighboring
farmisnotorganicbutvendoris).Productsthatareresold
maynot
competewith
ownergrowerproductsatthemarket,unlessthisisagreeduponwiththeownergrower.
*Note,thatproducer/resellerisonlyallowedinuniquecircumstancesandtheintentofthis
classificationistoincreasethediversityoffreshproduceatthemarketandallowfarmstofill
gapsincropproduction/availabilityduetounforeseenissues.

nonlocalingredientsforlocalingredientsareacceptableforingredientsnecessarytoprovidea
healthyalternativetocommonfoods(glutenfree,vegan,etc).
