To Whom It May Concern:
I have been privileged to work with Shawn Flynn for ten years at Campbell High School. For the first seven years that I
worked at Campbell, Shawn was the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach and a Math Teacher at Campbell. Shawn is an
excellent coach, who the students look up to, and his teams usually make the playoffs. He led the Campbell Varsity Girls
Basketball to at least one State Basketball Championship. Shawn also coached the Campbell golf team in the spring
semester, for several years. Numerous Campbell athletes have benefited from Shawns guidance and coaching.
In addition to his successful coaching career, Shawn is also an accomplished math teacher. He has taught a variety of
courses over the years. Recently, Shawn has served as Curriculum Coordinator of the Math Department. Shawns
students speak of his fun classroom environment but also of his knowledge and skills as a teacher. Having worked as a
teacher, varsity coach and Curriculum Coordinator over a twenty year career, Shawn has an enormous amount of
experience in high school education and athletics. Teacher coaches are important role models and mentors for our kids
and they reinforce the connections between academic and athletic accomplishment.
As a colleague, Shawn is kind, knowledgeable and funny. He develops strong connections with students both
academically and athletically. Shawn is an integral part of Campbell High School, and a valued friend and colleague. In
my opinion, Shawn would be the perfect choice for Athletic Director. I am proud to work with him.
