Parents are given the opportunity to help develop their childrens multiple perspectives both

inside and outside the classroom. Whenever possible, they are invited to support and share
with learners their knowledge, skills and understanding of a theme through the lens of different
subjects. For parents/guardians who are unable to participate in school, they are updated about
separate and integrated subjects regularly through parent letters, emails and the class blog and
all caregivers can get involved through supporting home learning tasks and extending their
childs learning outside the classroom. Below are some ways that parents are involved in
developing multiple perspectives gathered across the year levels:
Milepost 1:
Year 1 parents supported learners during their excursion to the Hong Kong Botanical and Zoological Gardens.
This was in connection with the IPC Unit 'I'm Alive'. Parents helped integrate the subjects of science and
geography when reviewing with learners the different habitats living things need to grow and which countries
they come from.

Are You unit. Her presentation touched on Science and Physical Education.

Year 2 Parent volunteers supported students during a Learning Excursion to the Hong Kong
Museum of Medical Sciences. For History, parents and learners explored different tools used in
the past and identified differences between their own lives and those of people who lived in the
past. They also read about ways to stay healthy and prevent diseases for Science.

Milepost 2: Parents were invited to Year 3s Chocolate Fair, where students shared what
they learned through the lens of history, technology, geography, science, art and society.
Their learning was also shared with the school wide community through the schools
newsletter.

Geography, History, Society, International, Technology and ICT topics.

Parent Letters are sent home regularly to encourage home support and learning. On the left is
evident from a Year 4 home/weekend field trip that aimed at continuing dialogue in the home
