Jockeying: Arms length away, Knees bent, Side on, Showing attacker one way
Tackling - When the offense takes a big touch

Defender passes ball to attacker; attacker takes defender on, trying to
score on goal
Defender focuses on forcing the attacker away from goal (using sideline

from attacker. If attacker takes too big of touch then tackle ball away
(Rotation) Defender goes to attacker line; attacker gets ball and goes to
defender line

Task 7: 4 v 4 Inter-team competition
Objectives
Demonstrate restarting play and marking
Goals
Achieve the maximum number of goals in two 90-second trials
Application Description
This is a 4 vs. 4 competition. The offense must begin play from the center cone by passing the
ball to a teammate. After the ball is in play, the offense must pass the ball to one another in an
attempt to take a shot on goal. A player cannot take consecutive shots on goal. Restart play
based on the last touch if ball goes out of play or goal is scored. Restart play at cone if a goal is
scored. Use a throw-in if a ball last touched by the defense crosses the touch lines (sidelines).
Restart play with a corner kick if a ball last touched by the defense crosses the end line. A player
cannot restart play two times in a row. If the defense intercepts, tackles, or otherwise disrupts
offensive play prior to the shot, the offense retains possession and must restart using appropriate
play. The competition will last for four 90-second trials with the offense retaining possession of
the ball for the full 90-second trial. Possession of the ball changes on each new 90-second
trial.
