After watching the Five Fingers Evolution video, Ms. Lee discussed the different
mechanisms of evolution with the class.
Connections to students lives were made to make the learning more concrete. (Adam,
what are you looking for in a girlfriend? to emphasize non-random mating as a
mechanism of evolution.)
The lesson was closed with short notes summarizing important points.
To increase student accountability, Ms. Lee did a cold call of students to read the notes
out loud.
Technology was used (socrative.com) to check for understanding.
To maximize radar, Miss Lee required observable outcomes (Close all laptops.) before
transitioning to the next activity.
Most students were in their assigned seats.

After asking all students to close their laptops, Miss Lee continued to the next activity.
