Responsibilities
Duties included: maintained continuous surveillance on the water, get Water Aerobics items for the class, and
close pool after classes are done.
Accomplishments
Enjoyed my job as a lifeguard, and interacting with patrons. Certified in Lifeguarding and First Aid by the
American Red Cross. Dual certified in CPR/AED by the American Red Cross and Healthcare Provider
(American Heart Association).

Firefighter of the Year


February 2016
I won this award given to me by Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 for my dedicated work towards
becoming a firefighter and EMT. I have taken many classes in the past two years to improve my knowledge
of firefighting and emergency medicine. I also won this award for my fast thinking when a fellow firefighter fell
off of a firetruck, falling 10 feet to the ground. I was the first on scene and my knowledge went to work.

Introduction to the Fire Service

This entry level course is designed to introduce new firefighters to basic information including an overview of
the fire service, fire service organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, tools and emergency
lighting, and backing apparatus. This is the first of five levels (courses) in the curriculum.

Exterior Firefighter

This entry level course is designed to introduce new firefighters to fire ground operation including SelfContained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), fire behavior, building construction, fire extinguishers, forcible entry,
ladders, and fire streams/hose line advancement. This is the third of five levels (courses) in the curriculum

Interior Firefighter
2016 to Present
This entry level course is designed to introduce new firefighters to interior fire ground operations including
Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Search and Rescue Procedures, Firefighter Survival, Ventilation,
Utility and Loss Control, Origin and Cause, and Fire Control (Suppression). This is the fourth of five levels
(courses) in the curriculum.

Pump Operations 1
2015 to Present
This course provides the fire fighter with an introduction to basic pump construction and theory as well as
operating techniques. Emphasis is placed on getting water to the pump, getting water from the pump for hose
streams, and prevention of common mistakes in pump operations.

Structure Burn Session


2016 to Present
This course will provide the student with a review and application of the techniques used in safe fire fighting
practices in an actual fire environment. Emphasis is placed on safety for both interior and exterior operations.

Hazmat Awareness
2015 to Present
The primary target audience is the first responders who will witness or discover a hazardous materials release.
This program is designed to give the first responder the necessary skills to handle hazardous material/WMD
emergencies at the awareness level.

Hazmat Operations
2016 to Present
The primary target audiences for this course are the First Responders charged with response actions
associated with hazardous materials releases. Student will learn and adapt the knowledge and skill
requirements for effective scene and response management. This program is designed to train and educate the
student in hazardous materials response at the Hazardous Materials Operations level and in accordance with
NFPA 472 of 2008 and 29 CFR 1910.120. This program is designed to give the first responder the necessary
skills to handle hazardous materials emergencies.

Water Rescue and Emergency Response (PA Fish & Boat Commission)

Planning for water emergencies, dynamics of moving water, medical conditions, personal safety & fundamental
rescue techniques (self & shore based)

I have been a volunteer firefighter for two years at Lehigh Township Fire Department #1.

I am currently enrolled in Emergency Medical Technician classes at Northampton Community College. I plan
to graduate from NCC in May 2016. I am currently enrolled in a Certified Nursing Assistant through Bethlehem
Area Vocational-Technical School. I plan to graduate from BAVTS in June 2016.
