Plight of the Natives

My experience with the Historical Source Analysis #2, Plight of the Natives was

direct and extremely insightful. Chief Joseph, the Chief of the Nez Perce tribe was an
intelligent and fluid speaker. The way that he recounted events, expressed his concerns and
presented solutions was like an illustration through words. This aspect of the historical
source made the analysis extremely gratifying and resourceful.

When presented with a text that presents such emotion and determination I am

instantly drawn to it. It showed me a perspective to historical events that is rarely seen;
therefore, I am more appreciative toward the historical significance of that source. This
new perspective gave me a view of our forefathers that wasnt glorified, nor paraphrased to
eliminate some of the harsh realities that the native people succumbed to. Overall, I
enjoyed this analysis and found it incredibly significant to our history.
