This journal article is centered around the high numbers of teen drivers who are texting
while driving. The author included statistics and an example activity to support the claim of high
numbers of teen drivers who are texting. This source is helpful in that it provides statistics and
because the sources for the stats are cited they are more reliable. Compared to the other sources
this source is slightly less beneficial because it doesnt include concrete information that can be
used in a lesson. Overall this source will provide supplemental information for me to use in the
presentation.

Crawford, Jeff. The Crawfords Auto Repair Guide to Beginners Auto Maintenance and Repair.
Mesa: Crawfords Auto Repair, n.d. Print.
This book is a complete guide on maintaining an automobile. It includes a description of
all items of a car that the average person would need to be concerned with. Such as dashboard
lights to tires. This source is very helpful because it describes, in sufficient detail, many of the
specific topics that I will be covering in my presentation. This information is reliable because it

is naturally objective information in that no one can argue a different viewpoint, it is hard fact.
Compared to other sources this source is equally as good. It is organized information, however I
could easily find the same information elsewhere. In my project this source will further provide
specific information to focus on, and how to portray the information to the audience.

"Maintenance." Car Care Tips : Basic & Service. Pep Boys, n.d. Web. 22 Sept. 2015.
This website, sponsored by pep boys service, provides an interactive list of items, and
how to fix them, that may be found in the basic service of an automobile. This source was
moderately helpful, the information is well organized and detailed. It is comparable to the
crawfords auto repair guide cited above, although better because it is online and easier to
read/follow. This source benefits my research and project because it gives me organized way to
display the information to the audience.

McClintock, Michael. Telephone interview. 6 Oct. 2015.

This source is a telephone interview held with an experienced professional who has
taught driving schools and classroom lessons on safe driving. This person shared their
experiences and gave important information about teaching and what to teach. This source is
very helpful in that this person provided information that directly relates to what I need to cover
in my presentation. The information is also reliable because it comes directly from a persons
personal experiences. This source is probably the best source for my research because it is the
only one to specifically recommend what to include in my presentation.

"Teenage Driver Crash Statistics." Teenage Driver Crash Statistics. DMV, 2011. Web. 07 Oct.
2015. <https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/teenweb/more_btn6/traffic/traffic>.
This website, also sponsored by the DMV, provides facts and statistics about teen drivers
between the ages of 16 and 19 across the nation. Including crashes by state, Injuries, and moving
violations. This source is helpful to my project because it provides statistics and data that I can
transfer into charts and reference in my project. This data is semi reliable because it comes from
a government source however there is limited information concerning the origin of the data. This
source is just as good as the other sources. The statistics found in the source will provide a visual
aspect to my presentation.

"Safe Driving Tips for Teenage Drivers | DMV.org." DMV.org. N.p., n.d. Web. 22 Sept. 2015.
This website, sponsored by the Department of Motor Vehicles, is an all you ever need to
know source for a teen driver who is learning to drive. This includes what type of vehicle,
common mistakes, and insurance policies. This source is very helpful in that it focuses on the
driver and not the vehicle. Compared to the other sources this source is more beneficial because
it covers several topics that are not mentioned in any of my other sources. This source will be
helpful in my project because I can uses some of the information to talk about psychological
improvements instead of concrete facts. For example, where to look when driving instead of how
to change a tire.
