there. They also might have practiced shooting on the Jews one and a wile. The camp
was divided into two sectionsthe camp area and the crematoria area. (Eveidence2)
the people that were in the cam portion were terrified of going into the other section
because they know they were going to die if they did. The crematorium was like hell for
them no one was willing to go there because they all new it was bad. The camp area
consisted of 32 barracks, including one for clergy imprisoned for opposing the Nazi
regime and one reserved for medical experiments. (Evidence2) A lot of people were
there even though there were limited bunks or places to sleep. A lot of people died
because of not having a place to sleep. Jews were the main people they used for
experiments and they werent the good kind of experiments. In 1942, the crematorium
area was constructed next to the main camp. It included the old crematorium and
the new crematorium (Barrack X) with a gas chamber. (Eveidence2). Every one in
the camp was terrified because of this; they might have thought that they were all going
to die or something. Their were roomers going around camps saying their were gas
chambers but no one knew if they were real or not because you only knew if you were in
their. During the war, forced labor utilizing concentration camp prisoners became
increasingly important to German armaments production. (Evidence 2). They used
them as slaves for war working like making guns and weapons. If they did them wrong
they might have been punished by death or whipping. The number of prisoners
incarcerated in Dachau between 1933 and 1945 exceeded 188,000 (evidence2). The
people that were first in the concentration camps, many of them didnt survive. The
people that were there last most likely survived because they didnt have to stay there for
that long of a time. Typhus epidemics became a serious problem due to

overcrowding, poor sanitary conditions, insufficient provisions, and the weakened
state of the prisoners. (Evidence2) people who survived this horrific experience were
very lucky because things like sicknesses can spread very quickly and can kill thousands.
The people who died in that time, we still mourn them and miss them and thank them for
being so brave helping us live the lives we live.
Heinrich Himmler announced the opening of the camp, with a capacity for 5,000
prisoners, Reichsfuhrer SS at a press conference held on 20 March 1933.
(Evidence3). This was the start of everything and for the Jews, gypsies, homosexuals,
and ext. this was the start of their hell. They didnt know it but they all were going to be
living very different lives after a couple of months. The first Jewish prisoners came as
known political opponents of the Nazis. At Dachau, as elsewhere, they received even
worse treatment than the other prisoners. (Evidence 3). I think this was because they
fought against them and they wanted to show them that they couldnt go against them
ever. They also might have held a grudge against them because they fought against them
so many times. The prisoner area was about 290 meters wide and 615 meters long,
linked to the SS area by a wide road. (Evidence 3). The aria was pretty small for the
prisoners and they already had small places to sleep. As people can see they didnt have a
lot of space to go out sides because their sleeping quarters were relatively big for that
space. At first a single barrack accommodated only 180 persons, but later the
overcrowding became intolerable, and bunks filled all available space. (Evidence 3).
At the camp and many others there were a lot of over crowding because there were so
many of the Jews. This was where Hitler started to kill them off because he needed to
make room for more people.

This time was a tragic time for most people over in America and especially in
Germany. People had family and friends over there that they loved and wanted them to be
safe. The people who were put in the camps were badly treated and no one should be
treated like that every. We the people will always remember what happened in the time of
Hitler and the holocaust. It is one of those things that will be remembered for generations
to come. I hope people have learned
