Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break! Below are some important dates and an
overview of what your child will be learning in April.
Important Dates:
April 8, 15, 22 & 29 PLC Fridays Dismissal at 11:46am
April 14 & 28: Swimming
April 20 A Taste of Crystal Park 5:30-7:30pm (please consider donating a dish for this
evening of fun. Details to follow)
Language Arts:
Specific reading strategies in small groups
Review of news article and story writing
Figurative Language
Math:
Create, label and interpret line graphs to draw conclusions.
Select, justify and use appropriate methods of collecting data.
Graph collected data, and analyze the graph to solve problems.
Demonstrate an understanding of experimental and theoretical probability.
Science:
The students will be learning about trees and forests.
Social Studies:
Recognize how individuals and governments bring about change within their
communities.
Analyze the structure and functions of Albertas provincial government.
Analyze how individuals, groups and associations within a community impact
decision
making of local and provincial governments.
Health:
Health habits/behaviors influence body image and self-worth
Analyze personal eating behaviorsfood and fluidsin a variety of settings
Balance and variety in daily activities that promote personal health
Art:
Sculpture with modelling clay
Drawing with oil pastels
Physical Education:
Badminton
Track and Field
