We have posted a response to our Facebook page that addresses some of the concerns you have

raised. However the e-mails you sent today require some elaboration on that response.
As you know Sandra Grazzini-Rucki specifically told us in our interview that she went to Lakeville
PD several times during her marriage. She was specific about what she told them regarding the
physical abuse she suffered. She also told us that she had photographs to corroborate her
allegations of abuse. But neither she nor her attorney was able to produce these reports or
photographs, and Lakeville PD had no records of any domestic violence reports from Sandra
during her marriage.
In our report we clearly stated that after Sandra filed for divorce she called Lakeville PD at least
20 times on David. We meticulously reviewed every police report involving David Rucki or
Sandra Grazzini-Rucki. As an investigative reporter you are surely aware that a call to police does
not prove a crime occurred. And none of Sandras calls to police alleging physical abuse ever
resulted in any charges. Sandra also obtained an Order For Protection and David was charged
with violating it for contacting one of Sandras neighbors in an effort to get tools from the family
basement. It should be noted that the OFP was voluntarily dismissed by Sandra in court in
January, 2012 a year and a half before it was to expire. We obtained the transcript from that
court hearing which confirms Sandra requested the OFP be dismissed. We were in touch with
Lakeville PD on several occasions over the last few months and obtained all of these reports prior
to receiving them from Michelle MacDonald.
The incident you raised that occurred in 2008 involved David Rucki and Sandras brother-in-law
and was the result of an ongoing family dispute over money left by Sandras parents. The police
report indicates it was a verbal dispute that resulted in David being charged with 5th Degree
Assault. Those charges were subsequently dismissed. It should also be noted that in the police
reports regarding this incident the officer writes that when he called to speak with David, Sandra
began yelling at him and said that nothing happened between her brother-in-law and David.
Regarding the incident you raised involving the Ruckis neighbor we chose not to include it
because it was not directly related to the Rucki marriage or divorce. It should be noted that
there is a police report from July 2003 after Sandra went to police complaining about this same
neighbor. She reported feeling threatened by the neighbor.
We also chose not to include security camera footage from a parking garage, showing Sandra and
one of her daughters scattering David Ruckis personal checks and financial information on the
ground for anyone to find. While it certainly showed the level of acrimony in the case, it was not
specifically connected to Sandras allegations of physical abuse.
The incident you raised regarding Michelle MacDonald in court, when she refused to cooperate
with court officers who were citing her for taking unauthorized photographs, certainly had
nothing to do with the Rucki marriage or divorce and did not warrant inclusion in our report.
The original divorce decree you mentioned was vacated in September 2011 after a judge wrote,
it seems extremely unlikely that Respondent would knowingly approve this document given the
custody agreement, the inequitable property settlement, and the multiple inaccuracies and
errors. The idea that the Respondent would approve this document without any negotiations or

changes and without any representation in Court is beyond belief. We chose to focus our report
on the divorce proceedings that the court determined were in fact valid.
I can assure you we spent months pouring over every court order and police report in this very
complicated case. We would never suppress information that corroborated any of Sandras
allegations. In fact we gave her and her attorney multiple opportunities to provide us with
anything that backed up her claims of physical abuse and nothing was ever produced. We stand
by our 20/20 report.
