Carlo Edward Morandi C1 Class 16

INTRODUCTION
Our international team, during the development of its project, found lots of difficulties
in interacting with the Team Manager, Paul Johnstone, who was only a decision maker
and was not able neither to communicate nor giving feedback.
The company decided to remove him from his task and to substitute him with one of
the following managers: Ruth, Eduardo, Kazuo and Martina.

SUMMARY OF SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES

1. Ruth:
She is self-confident, able to set goals and to take decisions, really focused on the
goal to achieve. She is not so interested in the feedbacks of her colleagues,
especially if not related to the goal to reach.

2. Eduardo:
He is a very extrovert person, really oriented to the feelings of his colleagues.
Eduardo loves team work and he likes to have lots of feedbacks from the team
during the work. He is probably too team-oriented and not so Goal-seeker.

3. Kazuo:
Hard worker and very loyal to the company, he is in between goal-oriented and
team-oriented, trying to manage both aspects to achieve the best result possible.
While others have more experience with international workers, he has not.

4. Martina:
She is a very good team organizer and decision maker, caring less than the others
to the real work of her team. She wants to motivate the team with a bonus system.
She doesnt like to interact with the team and thinks feedbacks are usually useless.

RECOMMENDATION WITH REASONS.

I think the most suitable manager is Kazuo, because he has a vision in between the
goal and the development of the team. Personally I think both Ruth and Eduardo
are good managers, but both oriented only on one aspect of their work
(respectively too much on the goal and on the team). I dont think Martina is good
person to manage a team, because she doesnt really care about the team she had
to lead, while the goal is not even one of her priorities
