Project Funding Order

As seen in the PowerPoint presentation titled MDCM Deliverable 1 slide 3, the most important
project that needs to be funded is the Implementation of an ERP system. Investing in an ERP system will
successfully decrease the problems in logistics, such as inaccurate forecasting, scheduling, and bloated
inventories. The Manage Supply Chain project is highly dependent on a functioning ERP system and in
turn if the Manage Supply Chain project is complete then we can go ahead and Implement E-Procurement
Systems so we can take advantage of our buying power from our business scale and market share. Having
these three projects done, we can successfully take care of any issues we have with inventory
management and resource allocation.
The next projects funded in our IT portfolio need to be the ones that improve our ability to sell
our product to our customers with high accuracy and quality. In order to lay the foundation for heightened
Customer Services we need to fund the following projects: Consolidate Data Centers & Networks- this
will increase the flow of information about our customers. Begin CRM/ Create Data warehouse- we need
a place to store all customer data for forecasting and help. Standardize Server Hardware and Platformsdue to our company acting in a global market we cannot afford to have discrepancies in how customer
data is handled. Streamline Design systems- assures that we can provide the necessary quality to our
customers. Customer Self Service Portal- will decrease inaccuracies when delivering products to
customers and will decrease our administration costs and will create ease of use for our customers to
order required products.
Finally there needs to be internal projects that will improve the productivity of our employees.
First of all we need to have a unified methodology throughout all our subsidiaries so that workflow will
be smooth and discrepancies in information will be low. We start off with the project Unify Methodology
& Technical Standards to get all employees and future projects to be done the same way. Then we create
an ease of collaboration. We start with the Create Intranet Portal project then follow up with the Improve
Collaboration Systems which is a depended on the Intranet Portal. Finally we Outsource Nonstrategic IT
Services in order to reduce our costs.
The plan for this revamp is to:
1st Tackle Resource Planning, Logistics, and Inventory Management Issues
2nd Create a foundation and a platform from which we allow better and easier interaction with
our customers
3rd Do an internal clean-up to improve collaboration, communication, and cut costs where we
can.
