1. The State of Paaji[SoP] is a State in the Union of Modiland[UoM].

2. Sardar Surinder Singh Hooda was appointed as the leader of opposition in SoP after
his party, Sardaraan won the second highest majority in the state assembly elections
held in March 2011.
3. In the past, from 2008-2011, Sardar Hooda served as the CM of SoP in the 10th term
of the Vidhan Sabha of SoP after a leadership change in the Sardaaran party, which
had won the majority in the 2006 assembly elections.
4. On December 18, 2012, the Vidhan Sabha constituted a special committee in
pursuance of a resolution passed by the house to inquire into the allegations of the
misconduct related to Sardar Hoodas tenure as CM during the 10th term of the
Vidhan Sabha.
5. This resolution was passed in light of several newspaper reports published nationwide
in Modiland on December 12, 2012; that alleged that during his previous tenure,
nearly 70,000 acres of land was acquired from farmers and sold at high profits.
6. The committee submitted its report on December 29, 2012, which found that then CM
Hooda, along with some other persons, had engaged in criminal misconduct, as well
as violations under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
7. Sardar Hooda was expelled for the remaining term of the 11th term of the SoP Vidhan
Sabha vide a resolution passed to that effect, on January 2, 2013.
8. This was challenged by Sardar Hooda and the others so found guilty under the
aforementioned report and resolution, as not being misconduct that warranted exercise
of legislative privileges under Article 194(3).
9. Final hearings on merit are scheduled for March 23, 2015.
