students doing the same legislative internship. When mentoring,
my job was to guide the interns as they participated in the
legislative process and help them have the same successful
experience that I had as an intern (mentee) during my senior
year in high school.

Colors of Success
Help change the prospective of struggling students by showing
them that education is important.
Tutored students in subjects where they had the most difficulty,
and tried to prevent them from getting into trouble by giving
them advice and becoming good role models to them
Rose Park Elementary
Taught summer classes through the summer program

Helped teach a math class, computer class, art, and gym class

opportunities, and to show by example these students that
students of color can go to college too
Tutored them in math and reading
Talked to them about college
UROP
I investigated Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) at
the University of Utah
The objective of this study was to describe the complexity of
applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). I wanted to
explain the potential benefits and obstacles for students
considering applying for deferred action and find out how DACA
was being interpreted and communicated to the general public
and undocumented communities.
As part of my research, I attended free workshops to educate
myself about the application process so that I could educate
others later.
Utah State Archives
Examined scrapbooks containing significant information
concerning thousands of persons who were children in Salt Lake
City schools in 1936.
I had to look into Salt Lake Citys economic, and employment
history.
Through this process, I learned how to work Microsoft excel, and
collect data
