THE HANDINGOVER CEREMONY OF THE 37 THFULLY KITTED BEYOND ZERO MOBILE CLINIC TO MIGORI COUNTY AT URIRI SECONDARY SCHOOL ON 13 TH APRIL, 2016. Distinguished guests, Ladies and Gentlemen Jo Thurwa, amosou, Abanto bane, mbuya moere. I am pleased and excited to be with you today. Thank you Governor Okoth, and the people of Migori county for the warm welcome to your county. Migori is a beautiful and productive County well placed on the transport corridor to Tanzania which generates incomes for many residents here. Thank you First Lady of Migori for your tireless work in protecting women and children within this county. Your efforts are an encouragement to me and, I am sure, an inspiration to many women, young girls and our youth. The work you are doing to address social issues concerning the welfare of the people of Migori County is truly commendable by advocating against FGM, distributing solar lamps and radios to light up households across the county and for empowering women in this county by enabling them to take charge of their lives. And further, for the many, many things you doseen and unseento serve your people. I am proud to be here today supporting your work, and the work of the Governor in improving the health landscape of Migori County. Access to health for women, girls, children and every citizen of our county Kenya should be a concern for all of us.
We all have a part to play, and through collective efforts
and building partnerships such as the one we are forging today will bring us closer to achieving our National goalhealth for all. As you all know, for the last three years, I have been running with Kenyans to raise money for the purchase of medical mobile clinics to be distributed throughout Kenya. Today, I am proud to finally be here delivering Migoris mobile clinic. These clinics are well-stocked with equipment, and medication. The goal is for these kinds of clinics to complement, not supplement, the work of the tens of hospitals, health centres and brick-and-mortar clinics within this county. My hope, is that through a wide range of health initiatives and partnerships undertaken by the county Government, national government, philanthropic institutions and private citizens, Migori County will quickly attain the goal of zero preventable child and maternal deaths, zero new HIV cases and 100 per cent immunisation of babies against childhood diseases. These goals are within our reach, and we must all work together to ensure that we reach them; because a healthier community is also a more productive and therefore more prosperous community, and it is only when we all do our part, that we can build those kinds of successful communities. So I again thank the Governor, the First Lady of Migori all other County First Ladies who are here, partners friends represented here today including the community and the Ambassadors of Sweden, Belgium Australia for joining me and for playing your part on journey.
and and UN and this
As you continue to do so, rest assured that you have my
continued support and admiration and, as this mobile
clinic demonstrates, you have the goodwill of many, many
Kenyans behind you. With those few remarks, Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my distinct pleasure to hand over this mobile clinic generously sponsored by Family Bank clinic, to the people of Migori county. Thank you and God bless you.
