1. Introduce the compound words.
2. Get the students to read and write the compound words (Grandfather, afternoon, summertime, sunset,
seashell, seashore, classroom, homework, playground, baseball, and upstairs).

Resources:
Prepare the powerpoint slides, check the resource, and
review the lesson plan.
Powerpoint (introduces what are compound
words, and show the vocabulary words).
Puzzle pieces.

Vocabulary words print it out.

Ask about the date, the day of today, and take the attendance).
Start with a short video that inform the students about what we will going to talk about.

To introduce what are compound words.

Guided Experience (a group working with the teacher):


After the PowerPoint slides. Start the first activity.
The first activity is throwing ball.

Materials:
Ball.
Purpose:
Practice on the compound words.
Purpose achieved through:
Through this activity I will check if the students can recognize and pronounce the compound
words and it will be as a kind of revision (explain) . Also, the students will be engaged throw
the ball.
Instructions:

Start with a student giving an example of one word.


The student will throw the ball to his/her classmate to say the second word.
The third student will say the compound word.

How it will help both students and teacher?

Students:

Motivate them to learn because it combines fun and learning.


Activate to use the prior knowledge.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)


Purpose:
Get the students to read the compound words.
Activity one: puzzle with two pieces.

Materials:

Puzzle.

Purpose achieved through:


In this activity the students will read the compound words and then try to put every two
words together. ( engage, explain, and explore).
Instructions:
Students will get the puzzles, randomly on the table.
They will try to put the compound words.

Activity two: matching cubes.

Materials:

Cubes.

In this activity the students will read to match the compound word that is written in the cubes.
Instructions:
The students will read the compound words.
Match the cubes, according to the compound words.

Activity three: worksheet ( matching words).
