To Whom It May Concern:
Jennifer Maxam has completed her general education student teaching in a
kindergarten classroom at Harvest Elementary in the Saline Schools. She
had a very positive experience. Her cooperating teacher has been pleased
with her progress and the quality of the lessons she presents. She is
reflective and receptive to suggestions from others. She had a good
relationship with other staff in the building. She completed her placement
within the 10 week model.
Jennifers work is organized and timely. Her lesson plans are completed in
advance and available for review. She plans creative lessons designed to
actively engage her students. Her plans consider the attention span of the
age group, and their need for active learning opportunities. Jennifer
completed her curriculum unit on fairy tales. She was creative in planning
ways for students to expand their understanding of these familiar tales
allowing them to explore other ways to look at the events.
Jennifer has worked to develop a consistent and positive classroom
management plan. She uses a variety of positive interventions to keep the
students focused and on-task. Her classroom has a calm, comfortable and
relaxed atmosphere which encourages students to be ready to learn.
Jennifer listens to her students carefully and responds positively to them.
She has spent time getting to know each student. She is enthusiastic and
excited about her lessons and the students. She brings lots of positive
energy into her classroom.
Jennifer is well prepared to take on her own classroom. She will be an asset
to any school district where she is employed
.
