Scenario
Mrs. Bosley is considering a 5th grade class trip to a foreign
country, but she doesnt have the time to plan it. You have
been given the opportunity to design and propose an
itinerary! With your group, you will create a presentation
to pitch your idea in Spanish to Mrs. Bosley, Mrs. Kreft,
Mrs. Bachman, and the PTAO.
Essential Question:
How can we as tourists communicate and travel within a Spanish-speaking country by creating an itinerary
and a detailed travel plan?
Objectives:

I can identify the main idea in a travel brochure

I can identify and utilize important information in a travel schedule/timetable.
I can ask for and follow simple directions to arrive at a destination.
I can write or present recommendations about a few attractions in a Spanish-speaking country.
I can identify and explain a variety of modes of transportation used in travel.
I can compare my community with a community in a Spanish-speaking country.

Details:
1. In your group, choose any Spanish-speaking country or city. Then, get it approved by your teacher.
2. The trip must last at least 6 days and visit at least 6 attractions.
3. Your group can choose any method to create and give your presentation (iMovie, in-class speech, Prezi,
brochure, etc.) This must also be approved by your teacher.
4. Research your trip location with your group. Decide who is going to be in charge of what research.
5. You must include a visual aid to represent your trip.
Minimum Requirements:

6 days and nights and 6 major attractions

Each group member must speak at least 6 different sentences
You must include: a map that shows all stops on the trip, the currency (money) they use, travel
arrangements with prices (to and from the destination as well as travel within the destination), names

of attractions and any costs, at least 5 pictures of your destination and/or attractions.
Presentation must be totally in Spanish (no English unless using a proper name)
A list of references used during research

A paragraph explaining who did what work

You may use the resources provided on the next page, but you and your group MUST do additional
research.

Work time and due date:

You will be given time in class to work on this project. We will be working on these projects throughout the rest of the
school year. Presentations will begin on May 16th. During many class periods, we will be working in the computer lab or
with the iPads. However, you should make sure that everyone in the group also does some research and work from
home! Buena suerte!
