2.Pt. will state the effects of diabetes on her body function

5.Pt. will have fluid and electrolyte balance
Nursing Interventions (Minimum 5)
1. Educate patient about the diet recommended by Canadian Diabetes Association,
dietary advisor or nutritional consultant.

2. Educate patient to inform if any unusual problem occur with change in activity such
as nausea, vomiting and blurred vision
3. Educate patient to take medication as scheduled, monitor blood sugar levels and
watch for the sign and symptoms of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia
4. Encourage patient to eat diet rich in protein
5. Monitor fluid and electrolyte status
