Objectives

Identify the different leaders throughout World War 2

Understand who the leaders were so that the students can participate in
KAHOOOOOOOOT

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

FDR was born the 30th of January 1882 in New York

FDR suffered from Polio which progressed badly during his time as President

Only United States President with 4 terms to his name

Reluctant to join WW2, Until December 7th 1941 with the Attack of Pearl Harbor
FDR stated, "a date that will live with infamy"

FDR died April 12th 1945, In Warm Springs Georgia

Neville Chamberlin

Arthur Neville Chamberlain was born in Birmingham, England, on March 18,

1869.

Neville Chamberlin became Prime Minister on the 28th May 1937

Neville Chamberlain was Prime Minister of Great Britain in September 1939 at

the start of World War II. In May 1940, after the disastrous Norwegian campaign,
Chamberlain resigned and Winston Churchill became prime minister.

Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill was born on the 30th November 1874 in London

Fought in World War 1

Winston Churchill became Prime Minister in May 1940 replacing Neville

Chamberlin

Adolf Hitler

Was born on the 20th of April 1889 in Austria

Fought In World War 1 with the German Army

Was a flunking Artist

Was a member of the National Socialist Party (Nazi's)

Rose to power with his speaking skills along with violence, He became Furher on
the 2nd of August 1934

Died with his new wife in his Bunker under Berlin on the 30th of April 1945

Joseph Stalin

Born on the 18th December 1878

Came to power on the 3rd of April 1922.

Member of the Communist Party of Russia

Used Violence to cement his control, with 56-62 million people in Russia dying of
unnatural deaths

Initially had a pact with Hitler and the Nazi's

Is beloved in Russia

Emperor Hirohito

Born April 29th 1901 in Tokyo Japan

Succeeded his father Emperor Yoshihito in 1921

Under Hirohito became a very militaristic country, All prime

ministers were from the military

During WW2 gave most powers to Military council was more of a

puppet leader

Japan attacked all of Asia

Allied with Germany and Italy (Axis Powers)
